Cancel up to 60 days prior to your arrival and receive your deposit back, minus the nonrefundable reservation fee. Please keep in mind that if you booked on a 3rd party site (Airbnb, VRBO,, etc), there may be additional fees that are not covered by Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations.

All final balances are due 60 days prior to arrival. No refunds shall be given if you cancel after your 60 day mark.

At this time, Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations does not offer travel insurance. We encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance through their credit card companies or an independent agency.

All Sanibel homes require a 28 day minimum stay, per the City of Sanibel. Sanibel condos, Captiva homes and Captiva condos may allow 3-7 night stays, per their HOA or their zoning.

Some homes allow up to two dogs but require Owner approval and an additional pet fee will be applied. At this time, we do not have pet friendly condos, per their HOA rules.

The Damage Protection Fee is a nonrefundable fee that covers up to $3,000 in accidentals and is provided by Rental Guardian. We know accidents can happen so this allows you to have peace of mind during your stay.

Check in for all homes start at 4pm, while condos start at 3pm. Check out for all properties is 10am.

All deposits require a debit or credit card payment. All final payments can be paid by either card or an ACH electronic check. We do NOT accept personal checks, PayPal, Venmo, etc. If you decide to process an Echeck for your final payment, we will then remove the debit/cc processing fee from your final balance amount.

The majority of our properties are on keyless entries, meaning you will not need to stop at our office to pick up keys or drop them off at check out. If the property you rented has a physical key you will receive separate emails with specific check in/out instructions.

We provide a starter kit to get your vacation going. This includes a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a paper towel roll, sponge, small bottle of dish soap, laundry detergent tab, dishwashing tab, bath towels, hand towels and starter shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. It is important that all guests purchase their necessities before or during their stay. This includes but is not limited to: toiletries, condiments, zip lock bags, aluminum foil, trash bags, coffee filters/k-cups, beach towels, etc. If you need any of these items we are happy to provide for a fee.
